Job Description

President, Upper Valley Medical Center

Withinthe framework of the objectives and policies established by the Board of Directors,and under the direction of the Chairman of the Board, the President of UpperValley Medical Center and the COO of Upper Valley Medical Center, the President, UVMC Foundation leadsand directs the Foundation's relations with the Foundation Board, donors,funders and prospects, the community and the Hospital community benefit grantrecipients.

The President, plans,directs and coordinates all fund-raising efforts of the Foundation and implementsnew programs to grow the Foundation's ability to make grants, participatesas a team member of UVMC and Premier in the overall mission and performsspecial assignments as requested.


  • A graduate degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Sales & Marketing, Business, or Development related field.   
  • Candidates with a notable record of distinction in community service through active philanthropy or considerable experience in fund/resource development, particularly at the major donor level will receive preference
  • A background in philanthropy, as a foundation leader, board member, or CEO of a large non-profit would prepare successful candidates for this exciting and high-profile opportunity.
  • Minimum five years, successful fund raising experience in major and planned gifts. 
  • Knowledge of, and/or experience in, the nonprofit industry; knowledge of, and/or experience in, community foundations specifically preferred
  • Must possess a proven track record of cultivating donor relationships with the specific purpose of planned giving and major gifts; demonstrated ability to identify new donors. 
  • Strong working knowledge of the Miami County and Greater Dayton Community and prospective donors. 
  • Professional certification preferred.

    • With a passionate commitment, capability to influence/motivate others; must possess confidence in dealing with and associating with persons of influence
    • Comprehensive understanding of philanthropy with commitment to “best practices”
    • Experienced as a senior member of a complex organization, with abilities to work collaboratively (team player) within a system structure
    • Working knowledge and experience in management of operational finance
